ABOUT CHARLI

Designer, founder, recovering manual-task addict.

I’m Charlene Nicol — a luxury interior designer who spent years doing beautiful work for clients, then going home to spend two more hours on admin. Emails, intake forms, sourcing spreadsheets, follow-ups. The stuff that doesn’t make it into the portfolio. HiveLogic AI is what I built when I decided that had to stop. For me first — then for every other designer who’s been in that same place.

It didn’t start as a business idea

“I wasn’t trying to build a company. I was just tired of spending Sunday nights catching up on emails that had nothing to do with design.”

I’ve been in the luxury design world for years — sourcing for high-end residential clients, writing FF&E specs, managing complex project timelines, and doing the kind of work that requires real taste and real attention. That part I love.

What I didn’t love was everything around it. The intake form that lived in a spreadsheet no one updated. The follow-up email I kept forgetting to send. The sourcing research that took half a day when I knew exactly what I was looking for. The proposals that looked great but took forever to pull together.

When AI tools started getting genuinely useful, I went deep. I completed an Applied Generative AI Specialization, built agentic systems from scratch, and started running experiments on my own workflows. Some things didn’t work. A lot did. I started teaching my design friends in the industry how to use them too.

Then designers I knew started asking what I was doing. How was I handling more without burning out? What were those tools? Could they use them too?

That’s when HiveLogic became real. Not as a pivot, but as something that already existed — I just needed to name it and open the door.

A few things I’ve learned the hard way

Design deserves your full attention

The best work happens when you’re not half-distracted by your inbox. AI doesn’t replace design judgment — it protects the time and headspace where design judgment lives.

Designers shouldn’t have to figure this out alone

The AI space moves fast and gets noisy. The Bee filters the signal from the noise — with people who understand a luxury design practice.

Systems should feel invisible

The best automation is the kind your clients never notice. You respond faster, follow up consistently, and show up more present in every meeting.

This works best when it’s built for you

Generic templates get generic results. Every Honeycomb build is scoped around your clients, your voice, and your workflow.

Where I’ve been, what I’ve built

Retail & Luxury Design — Designer on the luxury brand team. Years of high-end sourcing, FF&E specs, client presentations, and trade relationships built in the real world. · Applied Generative AI — Completed a full specialization through Simplilearn and Purdue, building agentic AI systems, RAG pipelines, and multi-agent crews from scratch. · Real builds, not theory — Every HiveLogic system is based on tools I’ve actually used and tested in a real design practice.
